Every number below is editable, because a comparison built on figures you cannot inspect is an advertisement. Change any of them to whatever you have actually been quoted and watch the answer move. If it stops being worth it for your matter, we would rather you found that out here.
Hiring a lawyer the normal way
They do everything. You pay for all of it.
Doing it here
You do the work. You buy their judgment by the task.
Where every dollar goes
Attorney fees are set by the attorney and paid to the attorney in full. We take no percentage of any legal fee. Our revenue is the subscription and the one-off matter activation, both marked below.
Where this is not the cheaper option
On short matters with one hearing, our advantage is thin. Eviction defense and debt collection defense are the clearest cases: a flat-fee lawyer may quote $1,500 to $2,500 for the whole thing, and once you add the subscription and the activation fee we are only twenty-odd percent cheaper.
So on those matters, do not choose us because of the price. Choose us because:
- You can start tonight, without a consultation you have to book a week out.
- The deadline engine means you do not lose by default, which is how most of these are actually lost.
- You can afford some lawyer rather than none, which for most people facing eviction is the real comparison.
And on the other end: appeals, contested divorces and business disputes are where the arithmetic is not close. Those run on attorney hours, and hours are exactly what you are replacing with your own work.
Start free and decide later
The workspace and the deadline calendar cost nothing. You only meet a price when you decide you want a lawyer to look at something.
