Pricing

Free until you want a lawyer.

The workspace, the drafting help and the deadline calendar cost nothing. You meet a price at exactly one moment: when you decide you want a licensed attorney to look at something. That is the whole model.

Cancel any time, in one click, from your own settings. No phone call, no retention offer.

What attorneys charge

Each attorney sets their own flat rates. These are the suggested bands we publish so neither side has to guess at the market. You pay the attorney in full and we take no share of it.

Why we do not take a cut of legal fees

Two reasons, and the first is not optional. A non-lawyer business sharing legal fees with a lawyer is prohibited nearly everywhere (ABA Model Rule 5.4 and its state equivalents). It is the rule that ended Avvo Legal Services. Our revenue is software revenue, so the question never arises.

The second reason is that we would rather not have the incentive. If we earned more when your legal bill went up, every routing decision we make would quietly point that way. A subscription means we do better when you get through your matter and tell someone.

The one charge people ask about

Matter activation is charged once per matter, the first time you engage an attorney on it. It covers conflict checking, generating the limited-scope engagement letter, the jurisdiction rules for your court, and keeping the record of who signed what.

It is the same price for every kind of matter, deliberately. A platform fee that scaled with what was at stake would start to look like a legal fee, and it is not one. It is never charged at signup, never at case creation, and never on the free plan.

What we will not do

  • Take a percentage of any legal fee, ever.
  • Charge you more because your case is worth more.
  • Charge anything contingent on the outcome.
  • Paywall the deadline calendar. Nobody is losing a case here because they would not pay us.
  • Make cancelling harder than signing up.
